  • The first episode of this Tv show had an average of 5.4 million viewers, surpassing the ratings of BBC One’s revival of “are you being served?” 

  • ITV stated in 2016 that the series was a ratings triumph, beating BBC’s Poldark.  

  • This show consistently attracted around 5 million viewers. 

  • The Guardian reported that consolidated ratings, including catch up averaged 7.7 million viewers. 

  • The show was also very popular at the time, ranking 280th among contemporary TV programmes on YouGov/Research.

  • The 24’s audience data shows a mixed pattern of popularity through its run. 

  • The first few seasons of “24” were particularly successful, with high viewership numbers and positive critical reception. 

  • The show mostly targeted males from the ages of 26 to 35 due to its focus on action, Hyper-masculine vibes and the portrayal of male characters. 

  • While the show had a strong run, viewership began to decline in later seasons, as the plot elements and character struggles became more intense. 

You 

  • The show has achieved over 500 million views since its debut. 

  • Season 5, the final season premiered with 10.1 million views in its first four days, topping the Netflix TV chart for the week of 21st April to the 28th of April.   

  • The show has appeared in the global top 10 list on Netflix over 30 times.  

  • You season 1 had a direct economic impact on the UK, particularly in the other insurance benefits category for households and financial corporations. 

The wire  

  • The wire was not a huge mainstream success when it came to audience numbers during its original run on HBO. While it gained serious critical acclaim and a loyal fanbase, it didn’t achieve the same level of commercial success as other HBO TV shows.  

  • Years after its conclusion, the show gained an even larger cult following and is now considered one of the best television shows of all time. 

 

Twin peaks 

  • The pilot of this tv show was viewed by 34.6 million people, making it one of the highest-rated episodes of the 1989-1990 season. 

  • Despite its success, the ratings declined during the second season, particularly after the revelation of Laura Palmer's killer and the move to Saturday nights. 

  • While the premiere of the reboot had 3.1 million viewers, this was a lower number than the initial plot of the original series.  

  • The reboot averaged around 2 million per episode across all platforms, with a significant portion of it coming from streaming.  

  • Despite lower ratings, the twin peaks reboot had a dedicated and engaged audience, with many viewers rewatching episodes engaging in online.
